Two of pop's G.O.A.T's (greatest of all times... YEAH, I said it!) were doing their thing last night at Madge's NYC leg of her sticky n' sweet tour. She pulled Brit on-stage to when she performed "Human Nature" (how fitting!). You can't even lie-- the "Legendary Ms. Spears" had the tightest weave in the building... I'm not mad. Check out the performance below... WATCH:

Still Makin' It Rain On Them Hoes....
Straight Up Distasteful.....
I spotted this "gem" of a video on DListed. Now, I am all for full-figured women being proud of their volumptuous bodies. Being scary-skinny, starving yourself, trying to look like someone God didn't intend you to look like is insanity... But so is this. Just like that one straw on the camel's back-- everyone has a limit. What in the world is going on here? Homegirl is NOT sexy. She needs a gastric-bypass and a diet Coke... ASAP! WATCH:
NEW VIDEO: Kanye West's "Heartless"
Kanye West is definitely trying to do "someting different" with this new album of his... Do we love it? I dunno. I'm reeeeeeeeeeally sick of that voice-coder sound. I wish T-Pain hadn't made it so ubiquitous... Or maybe it's just that I've been singing my entire life, and I know that voice-coders are ways that fraudulent, tone-deaf non-singers attain the "get outta jail free" card... So not fair.

Homegirl, Please....

I was parusing the usual good tid-bits at Bossip, when I came across an Associated Press article about how Bey has volunteered to sing at Barack's inauguration. Now-- Barack is ubiquitous for a reason... A VERY good reason, and I don't think I could ever get tired of seeing his face, or hearing him speak. But Beyonce? She's ubiquitous to the point where if she doesn't go home, throw a robe on, get barefoot and start popping out babies-- I might just be on the warpath looking for her. Enough is enough already! Perhaps fellow Chicagoan Jennifer Hudson might wanna take a stab at it (again). Lord knows homegirl has been through it the last couple weeks-- it would be great for her to have something to look forward to. Check out what Bey said on the subject:
“I’m there. I can’t wait,” she told the Associated Press. “I feel like all of us, we’re ready to do whatever we have to do. Whatever they want — if they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I’m there, and I’m ready.” She said that she was supposed to be in Japan on election night, promoting her new album, I Am … Sasha Fierce. At the last minute, she opted to stay home. “I said, ‘What am I doing? I’m completely making a bad decision. I have to go home. I’m gonna kill myself if I’m not home in America,”‘ said the singer. “I knew I needed to be here.” After he won, she said she “fell asleep crying and smiling at the same time. I woke up with mascara running and a smile on my face!”
Blah. It's not even mid-November and homegirl already plotting on the January 20th affair... Hey, the early bird gets the worm I suppose. I can't even hate on her hustle. We'll see what happens.

Quote Of The Day...

Jay-Z addressed a group of potential-voters in Philidelphia on Tuesday and said:
“I need y’all to be really, really quiet for this,” he said. “I need you to really understand what I’m telling you. Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther King could walk. Martin Luther King walked so Obama could run. Obama’s running so we all can fly,”
What can I say, but the man has a way with words. I couldn't have said it better.

44th President Elect: BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

The 47-year-old, first time senator of Illinois has come a long way from community leader of Chicago's toughest Southside neighborhoods. He has soared the highest of heights, reached the ultimate goal-- he IS the living dream. For all those young Black boys and girls before him that said, "I want to be President of the United States one day", he has shown that the possiblity is real, and the dream can become a reality.
In my hometown of New York City, there was an unprecedented voter turnout. Over 600,000 new voters registered this year, and countless others stood in line for hours to be heard. And they were. Projected on large tv screens in Times Square and Harlem, the announcement of our new President came shortly after 11pm. The whole world rejoiced from Israel to Kenya, and all over our nation you could hear the crys of joy, and the tears of triumph from Chicago to Florida and everywhere in between. The world wants change, Americans want change and we are tired of waiting. We want change NOW, and Barack represents that change. He is not perfect, and he has his work cut out for him-- thanks, Bush (rolls eyes to the high heavens). But if his campaign was any demonstration of what this man can do-- then we're in good hands. This campaign has mobilized the youth and mobilized minority communities out of the dangers of apathy. Everyone from rockers to hip-hop stars have endorsed Obama. Today is the first day of the rest of our lives...

"Life With Jiggaman Ain't No Walk InThe Park"
I was browsing the web today, and saw an article on: www.singersroom.com. They were discussing how bey has been on the campaign trail with Jay-Z, and everything is not all peaches and cream. Says Bey,
"We don't have a normal relationship because of our careers. But celebrity or not, you go through the exact same things. We're not perfect."
While the couple appears be going strong as they finally acknowledge their marriage through several outlets including Gotham Magazine who recently interviewed Beyonce, there have been a number of disagreements like any other couple.
However, at the moment Beyonce is head over heals for Mr. Carter.
"This is like my first relationship. I'm very private and, of course, I don't talk about it, but I'm very, very happy. That's all I'll say."
Hmmm. Wish I could say that was interesting and full of scandal... But it really wasn't... Was it? Beyonce always has a knack for getting us all hot and bothered about something really revealing that she might say-- but in the end she always manages to keep it private...Oh well, Singer's Room also goes on to talk about Beyonce's latest effort, "I am... Sasha Fierce". If that is not the only pretencious-I'm-really-real-like-for-real-guys type of album title-- then I don't know what is. But I know how you people out there in web-land love y'all some Beyonce. So I'm not trippin... Want more news? Check it out at Singer's Room!
82% of the World...

...says we should vote "Obama-Biden '08", and so do I. Everyone from Brazil, to Russia and even Holland has chimed in,and the overwhelming response is clear. We NEED Obama. RIGHT NOW!
After leaving the polls today (crisp and early at about 6:45 am), I just felt this incredible energy... Like all our doubts and fears will be gone in a matter of a few hours (or days-- depending)... This 2-year campaign has finally come to an end, and in my eyes it all ended from a simple push of a lever. I love how NYC hasn't changed it's polling system to the electronic ones (at least not in Brooklyn). I find it comforting to know that my vote won't get "lost" or "discounted" because of some "initializing" or "buffering" gone-wrong. I'm a little nostalgic because this officially marks the ending of my election-series posts. I'm just hoping it's the RIGHT ending...There is still hope in my heart, and the future in my eyes for this nation. We can do this. We can get right. We got hope. Here's to hope, and a lot more of these moments:

Def Jam Label-Head Committs Suicide!

MTV.com reports that Def Jam's executive vice President (Shakir Stewart, 34) committed suicide on Sunday in Atlanta (according to the APD).He died of a traumatic self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. he was found in his bathroom on Saturday night, and by the time he was transported to the hospital, he was pronounced dead. Stewart was credited for putting a lot of Atlanta talent on the map through Def-Jam, including super-producer Jazze Pha. He shot up the ranks recently after Jay-Z's departure. He leaves behind his fiancee, Michelle Rivers, and many loved ones. MTV had more to say:
One of Stewart's long time friends, Christopher Hicks, said he last spoke to Stewart about a week ago. "Whatever happened over the past 24 hours is not a testament to who we all know," Hicks told the Journal-Constitution on Sunday. "He was a one-of-a-kind individual. If you looked on his Blackberry [stamp] it said, 'One of one.' ... I mean, Shakir is the kind of guy who would get dressed up for a party none of us were invited to. ... He had no doubt he was getting in. He was a 'Where there's a will, there's a way' kind of guy. Always."
Stewart's fiancée, Michelle Rivers, released a joint statement with his family on Sunday in which she said that "over the past several weeks, Shakir's behavior was inconsistent with the man we all know and love. As much as we all tried to help him, Shakir was in deep pain and largely suffering in silence."
Sad.
Insane In The Membrane...

According to a New York Times article, there is already legislation being passed to try and make Guardisil (that vaccination against cervical-cancer causing HPV) mandatory for ALL TEENAGED GIRLS. Which basicaly means, soon you will not be able to attend a public school without this vaccination... That's kinda scary. I mean, I'm all for healthy lifestyles and preventative mesaures, but this should really be a choice. I think this pharmaceutical company (like many others) can clearly see the monetary benefits in making these mandates... But is it reeeeeally completely beenficial for us? Guardasil is reltively new. What about the long-term side-effects? What about the fact that it doesn't prevent agasint ALL types of HPV (including genital warts)? Why aren't young males being encouraged to take this as well, because 9 times outta 10 they are the carriers that spread this virus. I just have so many questions, and I feel really uneasy knowing that one day this might actually be as mandatory as science class...
VOTER, BEWARE!

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY AMERICA! And I'm sure that most of you will do perfectly, but I do want to give you all-- my faithful flock, a word or two of caution. BEWARE of the tricks of this trade. This year, is the introduction of electronic voting. With this new system comes many new problems. Make sure that your vote goes through the system completely. If you don't get a confirmation, talk to the poll-staff to re-do your vote. If you are not satisfied, call this number: 866-OUR-VOTE. This company is a not-for-profit organization designed to help anyone and everyone with their voting needs... YOUR VOTE COUNTS! Make sure you act like it does!
Secondly, there have been people trying to sabotage votes by passing out ridiculous flyers. Some of these flyers claim that if you were ever convicted of a crime, or if you have something pending-- even a traffic violation, you can't vote. This is simply NOT TRUE! Don't believe the hype y'all! If you need to ask someone, don't hesitate to try the number I gave above. For all those in NYC call: 1-888-VOTE-NYC. Be safe, be smart, and HAPPY VOTING TO ALL!
PS: we ALL know who's gonna win-- right? Right. It's bound to be the Par-TAY of the century!!!!
