Not Bad, For A Mugshot!

Looking at the fine and talented Andre 3000 it's hard to picture him in this context. He just doesn't look right holding up a black plaque with a bunch of numbers on it-- but ALAS here we are. TMZ.com got the shot after Andre was pulled over for speeding in Georgia-- doing 109 in a 65 zone... OHHHH WEEEE, that's not pretty! He posted his $1,200 and was eventually released... Poor bebe.

"Chris Has Abused Me Before", Rihanna Claims to LAPD

The folks over at Hollyscoop have revealed something I had initially speculated-- Chris has hit Rihanna in the past. Although they seemed so perfect, there was abuse and turmoil going on from the gate:

Chris Brown and Rihanna seemed like the perfect couple on the outside, but after his recent arrest for felony battery, we’ve learned that it wasn’t the first time Chris raised a hand on her.

According to Police reports, Rihanna claims that Chris has hit her in the past and she referred to it as an ongoing and escalating abusive relationship.

When Rihanna first spoke to LAPD she refused to tell them what started the argument that night. We’ve now learned that it was the result of another woman sending Chris a text message about meeting up later on in the night.

During the argument, according to the police report, she ordered him to drive her home and “faked a call” to someone, saying things like, “He’s dropping me off. Make sure the cops are there,” reports TMZ. This enraged Chris.

He then said something to the effect of “You are really fu**ed up now. I’m going to kill you.” That’s when Chris allegedly began his violent attack with his fists.

At some point during the attack Rihanna took the car keys out of the ignition and threw them outside. He reportedly went outside to look for them, and returned back to the car and allegedly choked her. That’s when she lost consciousness and a witness called 911.

Based on Rihanna’s statement and her injuries Chris will definitely face a felony domestic battery charge, but it’s unclear at this time whether or not that’s the only charge he’ll get because evidence that he made criminal threats against Rihanna is kind of thin.

Geez Loise, this is a mess. I wanted to give Chris the benefit of the doubt, but as things start to unfold, I feel less and less confident that he has a fighting chance. Poor Rihanna. Abusive relationships can definitely sneak up on you-- one day your happy, and the next your wearing glasses to hide black eyes. I'm glad this issue got so public-- there's no way Rihanna can go back to that (in her right mind) and even if she did-- she's got a whole nation of people that will STOP her!

Eartha Kitt Passes On....

As most of us celebrate Christmas with our families today, one famous family is not so fortunate. Singer, dancer, and sex-symbol extraordinaire, Earth Kitt died today of complications due to colon cancer.She passed today at 81 years old. Kitt grew up in rural South Carolina, and rose in the ranks of fame to become a symbol of sensuality and elegance the world over. She was married to William McDonald, and they had a daughter-- Kitt McDonald. She was popularly known for her role as Catwoman in the Batman series. I still remember Eartha from her stint in "Boomerang" when she was all up in Eddie Murphie grill-piece, lol. As a little girl, I always thought she was so beautiful, exotic and glamorous. My heart goes out to her and her family this holiday...

The "Jig" Is Undeniably Up...

Take a good look kids. This is what a moron looks like. According to the New York Times, Plaxico Burress turned himself in at an NYC police precinct in midtown this morning. He is facing charges of criminal handgun possession. On Saturday night he was at a Manhattan nightclub (Latin Quarters) when he accidentally shot himself in the leg. Deeper investigation revealed he did not have a NY license (which is the ONLY gun license accepted in the state of New York). What a marroon! Yes, I said a MARROON. NYT has more on the subject:

Burress, a star player [for the NY Giants] with a history of trouble both on and off the field, could face more than three years in prison, the authorities have said, because he did not have a permit to carry a gun in New York City. A law enforcement official said that the gun, a Glock semiautomatic pistol, was recovered at Burress’s home in Totowa, N.J.

The police have said they are also interested in talking with Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce, who was with Burress when the gun went off in an alcove near the V.I.P. room section of the Latin Quarters nightclub. Running back Ahmad Bradshaw was with them, but he was in a different part of the club at the time of the shooting.

Boy oh boy, where to begin. Why did he have a gun? What, he's tough-guys all of a sudden? Why wasn't the safety on? How did he get past metal detectors? This is insane. Not only is the talented Burress facing a possible 3-year stint in jail, he might lose his ability to play for the League all together because of this. I'm sure I know the answer to what he would say if I were to ask him whether this was worth it or not...

Paula Abdul Fan Committs Suicide Outside Abdul's Home!

According to AM New York, American Idol past contestant, Paula Goodspeed, 30, was found dead of an apparent drug overdose inside a car near Paula Abdul's home on Tuesday evening. On Goodspeed's Myspace Page, she gives a detailed account of her short stint on the show in 2006, where she was rejected. Ironically, Simon claimed, "There's a similarity here, more than just the name", about how Goodspeed's choice of attire was a throw-back to Abdul's 80's style. "I take that as a compliment beacuase you are beautiful", Goodspeed replied (to Abaul)... Looking back, that excahnge seems really eerie.

As it turns out, Goodspeed had a lesbionic obsession with Abdul, and was most likely frustrated knowing that she could not have her. Goodspeed was noted to be mentally unstable and very disturbed. It's so sad that no onein her life had caught on to her disturbing (and deadly) obsession before it was too late...

Def Jam Label-Head Committs Suicide!

MTV.com reports that Def Jam's executive vice President (Shakir Stewart, 34) committed suicide on Sunday in Atlanta (according to the APD).He died of a traumatic self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. he was found in his bathroom on Saturday night, and by the time he was transported to the hospital, he was pronounced dead. Stewart was credited for putting a lot of Atlanta talent on the map through Def-Jam, including super-producer Jazze Pha. He shot up the ranks recently after Jay-Z's departure. He leaves behind his fiancee, Michelle Rivers, and many loved ones. MTV had more to say:

One of Stewart's long time friends, Christopher Hicks, said he last spoke to Stewart about a week ago. "Whatever happened over the past 24 hours is not a testament to who we all know," Hicks told the Journal-Constitution on Sunday. "He was a one-of-a-kind individual. If you looked on his Blackberry [stamp] it said, 'One of one.' ... I mean, Shakir is the kind of guy who would get dressed up for a party none of us were invited to. ... He had no doubt he was getting in. He was a 'Where there's a will, there's a way' kind of guy. Always."

Stewart's fiancée, Michelle Rivers, released a joint statement with his family on Sunday in which she said that "over the past several weeks, Shakir's behavior was inconsistent with the man we all know and love. As much as we all tried to help him, Shakir was in deep pain and largely suffering in silence."

Sad.

It's So Hard, To Say Goodbye...

Hollywierd hottie (and one of my absolute favorite actors) Joaquin Phoenix has announced that he is retiring from movies at the ripe age of 34, and he's "dead serious". The talented and boisterous actor has been in such films as "Walk The Line" and "U Turn", and he has been nominated for two Oscars in his career. He will be turning to music and his role as Johnny Cash in "Walk The Line" inspired him to make that move. He has to learned to play the guitar for the role, and through his teachings he developped a deep passion for music. He sees it as a way to "expel his demons". The hunky star had this to say at press time about his latest filme "Two Lovers" With Gwenyth Paltrow and Vinessa Shaw:

"This will be my last performance as an actor. I'm not doing films anymore... I've been through that. I've done it... I'm dead serious."

Diddy Did It Again....

...And then there was 2! Shannon (the nice blond girl with the husband-- to the left in the above image) has quit Danity Kane. She claims that she is: 'tired of the drama, cat fights and Diddy'. And I don't blame her. It was a pretty dumb move for Diddy to break them up. Remember what happened with "Dream", and all of Diddy's other projects? Mase left, The Lox quit, Mary-J bounced, Faith ditched, 112 escaped, and now this? He just doesn't have the best track record, and he had a good thing going with DK and he just threw it away bc his ego (surprisingly enough) is even bigger than his water-head and horse-gums... SMH.

The New Face Of Danity Kane....

Yep folks, there you have it. Two slags and a tranny are what is left of the group "Danity Kane" thanks to Queen Diddy. In a fit of ridiculousness, Diddy decides to kick out Aubrey because he ASKED her what was wrong with DK and she TOLD him. Heaven forbid she would do something like that (rolls eyes extra hard). Basically Aubrey claimed that all relationships professional and personal rely on communication (sooooo agreed). She went on to claim that Bad boy management does not communicate with DK, and that is their essential problem... SOunds far enough-- right? Not in Diddy's world. How dare she point out a flaw! OFF WITH HER HEAD! And that was that. He also threw D. Woods under the bus for good measure.. SMH. Check out Aubrey having a "moment" at the MOTB 3 reunion show (which D. Tupac's Producer Committs Suicide...

According to TMZ.com, Johnny J (real name: John Jackson) committed suicide after being detained in a jail for a DUI... Baller Status.com had more on the subject:

Producer Johnny J, most popular for his extensive work on Tupac's All Eyez On Me album, died while in custody at the Los Angeles County jail on Friday (October 3). His death is being considered a suicide.

Johnny J was in jail for a DUI charge. Authorities say he took his own life by jumping off a tier in the jail. He was just 39 years old, and leaves a wife and two children.

In early 90s, the Mexican-born, Los Angeles-raised producer first gained notoriety after producing the hit single "Knockin' Boots" for his Berklee College of Music classmate Candyman. Following the success of the single, he met Tupac and worked with the legendary rapper on his Thug Life album, the Above The Rim soundtrack, and the rest of the late rapper's projects up until his death.

Johnny J produced classic Tupac tracks such as "How Do U Want It," "All Bout U," "Picture Me Rollin'" and "Hit Em Up."

He was also the owner of his own Klock Work Entertainment.

How sad. I wonder what could have been so bad that this mogul, father, and husband would want to take his own life? He must have been fighting some seirous demons inside that's beyond our comprehension. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Jackson's friends and family-- may he rest in eternal peace.

The Jig Is Up Homie....

This past weekend, Orenthal James (OJ) Simpson was found guilty on all twelve counts of kidnapping and robbery in a Las Vegas hotel almost a year ago. The retired football star held a man up at gunpoint, and stole his merchandise, claiming it was HIS paraphenalia, and he was taking it back. OJ became famous for more than his athletics 13 years ago when he was acquitted of the murder (who almost all of us think was total BS) of his ex-wife Nicole Simpson. Since then he has basically been a social pariah, and has been in and out of the headlines-- always receiving bad press. Well apprently, his lucky days have come to an end. OJ's sentencing is scheduled for December 15th, and he can face a possible life sentence in jail. Ohhh weee, Karma is a biatch with a mini-skirt and high-heels, ain't she?

Diddy Say: "Knock You OUT!"

Looks like trouble in paradise for our two favorite (most interesting, and most recognizable) "bad girls" of Danity Kane. BET To Cancel Rap City!

According to livesteez.com, BET executives plan to pull the plug on the long-standing rap show that has been a mainstay on BET for years-- since 1989 to be exact. Apparently, the show has been suffering from bad ratings for the last 3 years (since "Big Tigger's" departure). Check it out:

Originally hosted by "The Mayor of Rap City" Chris Thomas for its first several years, Rap City’s "golden age" was 1994-1999, when the program was hosted by the colorful and knowledgeable duo of Joe Clair and Leslie Segar AKA Big Lez. In 1999, the two hour slot was repackaged as Rap City: Tha Basement and christened with new host Big Tigger. Tigger’s run birthed the popular Freestyle Booth session, where MCs would feature their best rhymes or freestyles following their interviews. After completing their verses, many times with Tigger joining in, the MC(s) would traditionally sign the booth’s wall. These freestyle sessions produced memorable performances from artists such as Ludacris, The Roots, Killer Mike, Chamillionaire, Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Obie Trice, Xzibit, Cassidy and numerous others. Since Tigger’s 2005 departure, the show failed to establish a concise direction, running through a myriad of hosts and focusing on commercial artists, which failed to showcase Hip-Hop’s diverse talent pool as done years before. Consequently, the show was reduced to a one hour time slot as ratings suffered.
The final Rap City episode will air on October 29, making it the longest running Hip-Hop program at 19 years.

Busted!

According to TMZ.com, Heather locklear was busted by Santa Monica cops last night while driving erratically. They had the suspicion she was "on that stuff", but breathalizer tests proved she had not been drinking. They gave her a drug test and results are pending. She never had to post bail because th ecops released her this morning... Sad. She had just finished a rehab session a couple months ago... Can you say, RELAPSE????

Dropped!

Janet Jackson has been dropped from her label Island/Def Jam, according to industry insiders. I'm not too surprised. In recent years her albums haven't done too well-- even with the help of promotion and touring. Perhaps she's just not relevant anymore, but then again Madonna is 50 and still fills stadiums; so I guess there's no real excuse. Apparently, Jermaine Dupri is set to walk right on out the door behind her. But I'm not too worried about Janet. She gets dropped, she'll just pick-up again-- kinda like her diet habits! Ouch... low-blow.

Ahhh, The Days Of Old....

Ladies and gents... It is the end of an era. TRL will cease and desist officially in November. Good times were had by all... I suppose. TRL was started back in 1999, and was responsible for launching the careers of pop sensations such as: Britney Spears, Christina Aguillera and N' Sync. Even rap stars like Eminem got their biggest shine off of the infectious program. I have to say I HATED TRL. It had those chart-topping songs that they play on the radio 150 times a day. I heard it enough on the radio, now I have to turn on the tv and hear it another 50 times? Pahleeze. Good riddance! But... For nostalgia's sake, I have the infamous clip of Mariah Carey losing her marbles back in 2002 and giving ice cream away on the TRL set with a bewildered and confused Carson Daly in tow. WATCH:

KANYE WEST: ARRESTED!

When I first heard the news I was very interested. I know half the country is going to scream "FOUL" while the other half screams "FINALLY"! I know a lot of people think that this is poetic justice for "Kanye's arrogant ass"... I honestly don't know how to feel. Kanye and his bodyguard confiscated and destroyed two cameras owned by TMZ photogs. They were trying to get footage of Kanye at LAX airport. Kanye and his bodyguard are beig held on $20,000 bail. Don'tcha Know No GOOD?

David Duchovny has voluntarily checked himself into a rehab center. What for, you ask? SEX ADDICTION! Duchovny, 48, who has been married to beautiful wife Tea Leoni (I loooooved her in "Fun With Dick & Jane") for 10 years is ow seeking council. The couple have one daughter together. How sad. At least he is seeking help. That is definitely a step in the right direction... A 12-step direction to be exact! LOL, I know, I know... Cheap shot! Anyway, this statement was released on the issue:

"I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."

Dr. Dre's Son Dies Suddenly @ 20 Years Old

Andre Young Jr. aka "Hood Surgeon", 20, was found Monday morning in his bedroom at 10 am by his mother. She tried to wake him, but he was unresponsive. She panicked and immediately called 911. When help arrived, Young was pronounced dead. Andre Jr.(son of legendary rapper/producer Dr. Dre) had been out the night before and had returned to his Woodland Hills home at 5:30 am that morning... Only a few hours later his mother found him unconscious. At this point, there is no documented cause of death. There is an autopsy being performed now, and a toxicology report will reveal the grim truth in a few days. As you know, I will keep y'all posted as this story develops... So sad.

Da Brat Gets 3-Year Sentence!

According to AJC.COM a DeKalb County judge sentenced rapper Shawntae Harris aka Da Brat to 3-years in prison on an assualt charge. She also received 7 years probation with a mandatory 200 hours community service.



The troubled rapper caught this charge back in 2007 at a Halloween part at Studio 72 nightclub (owned by her right-hand man Jermaine Dupri). She apparently struck a waitress over the head with a Rum bottle. The woman had to be hospitalized and now has to endure permanent facial scars. Harris pled guilty to the aggravated assault charge. Her family was there weeping for her in the courtroom... I wonder where her BFF Mariah Carey was? Prolly up under her lame-ass hubby in Disney Land somewhere... SMH.
