Looking Back: Foxy Speaks

So it's been a whole year since Foxy was locked up for assault amongst other things. She took to her blog on global Grind to air out some of her feelings about the experience and those who supported her:

It’s My 1 Year Anniversary Home From Jail!!!!!! APRIL is a SPECIAL month for me…..the month I got my FREEDOM back. APRIL 18TH to be exact! 1 Year, NO bullsh*t……feels Good! I can’t lie! Jail aint’ nothin’ sweet yall, if it wasn’t for my abiding faith in GOD, and my beautiful Mother Judy holding me down my entire 8MONTH bid, I probably would’ve lost my mind in that Prison! So today, I thank the people closest to me that held me down with Visits, Letters, and the Packages I loved SO much…..My big sister Roxanne Shante, My baby boy AZ, My heart Spragga Benz, Kevin Chiles, Marvet Britto, Councilman Charles Barron, Ilyasah Shabazz, My Bishop Keaton, Craig Mack, Melky Jean, Claudinette Jean, author Nikki Turner etc… I luv yall! My “die hard” Fans, who rode it out wit’ me till’ the END and flooded the Jail with “FREE FOXY” letters!!! Hugs to yall all. I must thank Chaz Williams for his bulletproof support during my incarceration, even though we’re no longer friends. And I gotta send Special luv to the 7 C.O’s who took care of me thru my whole bid, and who I personally called on APRIL 18th, just to say Thank You…. It's clear to see that she is no longer cool with Chaz (the one responsible for putting together the major-flop "Brooklyn's Don Diva"....



One thing is for sure, though. I would much rather see Fox rockin the mic that writing some tell-all. I hope she puts out some new fire for 2009-- the game really needs her. She's arguably the best female emcee out there-- shoot maybe even one of the best period. Her flow is so sick, and she writes everything herself. We just need her to get it together and make us dance again!

Foxy Brown Gives 50 CENT 24 Hours to Apologize...

Now that this Rick Ross/50 Cent beef is full-fledged, others have been pulled into the madness. One of those victims is Brooklyn bad-girl Foxy Brown. In 50 Cent's diss-track entitled, "Try Me" 50 says, "The cop F***cked a Fox". This statement is in reference to Ross' brief personal-relationship with Foxy. Speculations claimed that the two were to wed, but that never happened, and the love affair ended as suddenly as it began. Foxy's rep made a statement on Allhiphop.com stating:

“Foxy is giving that n***a 24 hour [period] to retract that statement or she’s going handle [him] Brooklyn Style.”

So yeah, I think that period is up, and I don't see 50 taking anything back-- so I'm assuming it's on like JIFFY pop-corn! I can't WAIT to hear what Fox comes back with. She is one of the fiercest lyricists (male or female) in the rap game. This has the potential of getting VEEEERY interesting. 50 hasn't went at a female since Charli Baltimore was on murder Inc, and he said, "B***ch look like she died last week! Pale ass".... LOL. Ohhhh that 50. He's somethin' ain't he?

Getting SUED!

The dueling diva's of hip-hop are in trouble... Again! This time it probably won't land them in jail, but we'll see. Publishing house Simon & Schuster are suing the ladies for advances they got on books that were never written. In 2005 Brown was given $75,000 to write an autobiography by February 2006 called: Broken Silence. Similarly, in 2003 Kim was paid $40,000 to write a novel which was due in 2004. Clearly neither one delivered, and now there is hell to pay... Literally!

* I usually don't do Saturdays... They're my day off, but I dedicate this special Saturday post to my encouraging older sister, who loves my blog and thinks I should post more! The people have spoken, so I gotta give the people what they want.... right?

Is it just me, or does my girl Foxy look a tad bit.... Dare I say it... Washed up? Beautiful as she may be, that pose and that "outfit" are truly outdated. She could have done this cover in 1997 during her hay-day... Right? But hey, I'm no judge and jury so if she likes it, we love it!

Foxy will be settling down with her new boo in Miami... Hmmmm, sounds familiar. I've done that before! I'll give her 3 months tops, before she's crying to come back to NYC! LOL

Yes, They're Dating...

Foxy has got to be a man-tittay lover, because Rick Ross has MORE THAN Enough to go around! The two "lovebirds" have come out tot he media that they are happy, dating and will become "the next big hip-hop power couple".... Yeah... Ok, sure... Anyway, Ross' family is quite taken with Inga, and Ross' mother has been encouraging Rick to marry the Brooklyn diva. That's a little suspect to me though. I'm thinking Damn moms, ol' girl is barely fresh outta jail and you want your son to marry her? Smh.... I guess ignorance CAN be bliss.

Foxy Brown HATES Her New Album

Foxy brown's latest LP in 7 years (Brooklyn's Don Diva) was set to be released this month. But instead of releasing the album, Foxy wants to give it a major face lift. She claims that she heard the end result of her album just days ago and was devastated:

“Unfortunately, during my incarceration, this CD was compiled without my approval. I heard this CD in its entirety, for the first time, just says ago and was devastated.In another phase of my life and career, I would have dealt with this situation with litigation, but for the benefit of my fans and in the wake of the profound spiritual cleansing I recently underwent in prison, I made the decision to settle our creative differences amicably.’ Foxy goes on to claim that her fans are used to a certain integrity of her brand, and the end result falls short of that standard. She is very confident when she says she will ‘deliver the biggest street album in female rap history."

Hmmmm. That sounds like a mess and a half. She definitely should have been a bigger part of that process, and it boggles the mind that she wasn't. Why would she wait until this close to her release date to start dictating and rearranging? Come on Foxy, you've been in the game too long to be doing things so hap-hazard. It's good that she wants a quality product, but it's just plain embarrassing to hear your own album and hate it. Best of luck to her....

Foxy Brown Gets OWNED By Her Former Lawyer

Foxy Copped a plea deal for assualt charges from last year behind her lawyers back. He had worked tirelessly on her case for over a year, and accumulated thousands of pages of work. When he found out about the back-stabbing he was pissed! As you can clearly see in the video clip above...

Here We Go.... Here We Go AGAIN!

Not even 2 weeks out of the pen, and ol' Inga is back to her ol' tricks. Apparently she was a no-show for a court hearing this morning in Brooklyn concerning a prior assault case. Remember 2 years ago when Ms. Brown bust a girl upside her head with a Blackberry? (Yeah... Fox and Naomi compare notes) Anyway, homegirl pressed charges against her, and Foxy was nowhere to be found. Well... considering that she's "turned a new leaf" and just got out of prison, the judge used no leniancy in this case. As we speak there is a bench warrant out for Foxy's arrest... And she shouldn't be hard too find either-- she's shooting a reality show for goodness sakes! SMH.... eternally. Jesus, please oh please take the wheel on this one!

UPDATE: The bench warrant for Inga Marchand has been recalled. Apparently there was a rescheduling of the hearing by all parties, but the court was not informed. Therefor, the bench warrant was issued because of the lack of information...The hearing will resume tomorrow May, 8th. My bad Fox, but for the record: deep down inside, I just KNEW you couldn't be tat flagrant... Jesus sure did have the wheel on this one. Holla!

She Definitely Has Things To Pray About

Foxy brown recently got dropped by her Florida attorney Fred Haddad, because apparently her NYC team had made a plea deal behind his back over the pending assault case of a manicurist last year. Apparently the plea deal includes 6 months probation, and Foxy is probably willing to do this because of her up-coming VH-1 reality show. Haddad is PISSED. He claims he has spent the past several months working on this case, so now that she's accepting a plea deal, all his hard work was all for not.... Poor baby. Suck it up-- and sue!

Foxy Brown was released from Riker's yesterday, and I guess her fans heard her call. There was a significant crowd of people including die-hard fans, family and media crews. Fox is ready to jump back into the spotlight with her new VH1 reality show in progress. I know somewhere in Manhattan there are Asian manicurists cowering under their tables, and shutting down their store fronts... BROOKLYN STAND UP!!!!

Foxy Brown Wants You to POP BOTTLES!!!!!

...The official countdown has begun. It is mere hours until our Inga will bust up outta Rikers and be unleashed on our humble world... The infamous rap diva would have spent 8 of her 12 month sentence at Rikers for probation violation. Homegirl got some serious anger issues. She beat a manicurist upside the head after a manicure, and dipped out without paying! I hope she has gotten things together since then...


Inga wants us all to know that we should pop bottles and bring the ticker tape to the Rikers exit upon her release. She wants to film her fans welcoming her back into the world for her new reality show in VH1. The show is said to showcase Foxy on her uphill battle to get right, and get her fledgling career back on track. I've always been a fan so I hope she pulls it off. If for no other reason, just for the simple fact that she will be entertaining as hell! So remember to pop those bottles, roll up those blunts-- or whatever it is you wonderful heathens do when one of your kind gets freed. SALUT!

Can You HEAR Me Now????

Foxy Brown (aka Inga Marchand) is in countdown mode. She's getting ready to be released from jail in two weeks according to her publicist. Young Inga has a whole lot to smile about these days. VH1 is picking up a reality show on the fallen rap star-- the show will showcase her attempt to regain her mid-90's fame with the relase of Brooklyn's Don Diva (her latest LP set to drop sometime in May).

Don't get me wrong, I love Foxy and have been an avid fan for years despite her ignorant behavior in the past. But it seems like VH1 will give anyone a show for any reason at all. Damn, what I gotta do to get a show? Vh1, can I get put on? Like, seriously-- just give me a show, get me some camera-time and I'll figure out the rest, ya digg? I for one will be watching. Ya girl Foxy is a ticking timebomb, and I wanna be there when she EXPLODES-- on her manicurist, stylist, agent, WHOEVER. I just wanna be there!

Free Foxy? Fugetaboutit!

Today at Foxybrown.com there was an exclusive update on the troubled rap star. Apparently, Foxy has launched a new Web site: FreeFoxyBrown.com. The site was built by her Koch Records management team in an attempt to keep fans updated with her latest news, as well as a forum to allow fans to communicate with the incarcerated rapper...

When asked about the development of the site, Foxy had this to say:
“I devoted my career to building an affinity with my fans who have supported me unflinchingly and no barbed wire fence or prison wall will stop that,” Brown said in a statement. “I am in great spirits and very focused, and needed a forum to communicate to the people.”

I am personally very saddened by the latest issues plaguing this young and talented girl. I was a VERY big Foxy fan, and very devoted to seeing her regain success, but she is just TRIPPIN now. The acting out in public, the assault, and other careless behavior makes her seem like she lacks class and sense! I never thought this about her. Although she was always hood, I thought that there was a touch of class... Guess I was wrong. I think someone advised her that no publicity is bad publicity, and she just ran with it... Free Foxy? Maybe not. I think homegirl needs to sit for a while and think about what she's done, and how she can un-do it, because her image in the media is less than stellar. What do you all think?
