This just in from fly-guy Rae over at Stuffflypeoplelike.com -- Cassie shaved half her head, in an obvious attempt to gain some more "edge" like her avant-guarde-manufactured-counterpart: Rihanna. The problem with this look is:
A. it's inconsistent. Cassie has a soft sound and a glamourous image that this look completely clashes with, making her look random and worst of all thirsty.
B. If she really wanted to complete the look, she should have cut the rest of her hair shorter-- an edgy shaved style doesn't look right with long flowy ultra-feminine hair.
And C. I don't think her boo-bear P. Diddy would approve! LOL
But seriously, unless she is doing a complete image overhaul, this look is a little too risky for the "Official Girl". Cassie is a fly chick with her own swag-- although it often gets under the radar because she's over-shadowed by the Rihanna's of the world-- all the truly fly don's and diva's recoginze it. There was no need at this desperate attempt at "flyness". Plus-- Kelis did this look better. BLAH!

Spankin' New Video
Cassie comes back to the scene with her latest single: "Official Girl". I know a lot of females can relate to this song deeply. I for one know I can, I have most definitely felt that way before, so I'll give her credit for having some real lyrics. Clearly, Cassie was singing this one from the heart (peep the photo above-- lol). Although I like Cassie-- her style and her production, her voice still leaves something to be desired. Karina Pasian also sang this single, but the difference is she killed it. Cassie's voice just coasts along instead of really getting soulful and into the nitty gritty. The video is cool though. Cassie attended the Sean John launch party last night in NYC. She had just gotten her nipples pierced in an act to bring on breast cancer awareness....I think?
Sexy R&B star CASSIE had her nipples pierced to help her keep breast cancer at bay. The pretty 22 year old’s mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor and the singer was recently tested to make sure she was free of the disease. After the check-up, Cassie had her nipples pierced in a bid to show cancer she was a fighter. She says, “I got my piercings before I got my results, like positive energy… I think it’s sexy. I’m proud of them.” But she admits the decision to get pierced would have backfired on her if medics found the cancer gene. Cassie adds, “I’m sitting there with my parents, my mom’s sobbing after she finds out that I don’t have the gene, and I’m like, `Guess what, mom and dad, I got my nipples pierced.’ “It was nerve-racking because I was like, `My mom’s going to kill me if I have this gene and I got these things.’”
