...But I know you just can't help it! Here goes Cheri Dennis at the Day 26 party at Ed Hardy in NYC this week. I don't know where to begin, and I respect your intelligence so I REFUSE to state the obvious... But really-- she's STILL signed to Bad Boy? Incredible. I have no clue what P. Diddy is thinking about as far as his label, but the whole thing is a mess. From the rooter to the tooter-- a mess. Remember when he had the fiercest talent in hip-hop/rn'b? Mary J, Faith, Biggie, Mase, The Lox... Boy oh boy, we've come a long way Puff. Take another look at the beauty-queen that is Cheri:

What Is Hip-Hop Coming To?

For the love of everything fresh, fly and dope-a-licious why in the world do these things keep happening? Mind you, I am NOT a hater. Angel Lola Luv is beautiful. I don't really think the way she shows her beauty is the classiest-- but to each his own. You know? BUt when it comes to hip-hop-- that's a whole different story. That's the great love of my LIFE y'all. You just don't MESS with that. But alas, here we are. If you haven't seen it already, check out Lola Luv's: "Boss Biitch". WATCH:
PS: The lyrics are actually better than I thought they would be (doesn't mean they were great). But most likely-- they were ghost-written. So I'm still disappointed.

Tragic...

Now I warn you... Protect your ears, and do not... I repeat DO NOT put the volume all the way up on this track. Below is some new "material" from Meagan Good. Yes, apparently she's jumping on the bandwagon as well, and let me tell you it's NOT pretty. Is this serious, or a joke? I have no idea. Just take a listen-- but don't say I didn't warn you:

This is the KING's Last Hoorah?

I love Keyshia's super-long pony-tail weave on this KING cover. But WHY oh WHY is she doing that stereotypical-around-the-way-filet pose? And most importantly why did KING magazine's editors feel that this was suitable to be their last issue. I mean honestly, could we have done it a little more dignified? Keyshia looks great but her pose takes away from all the glamor. SMH, I'm in the wrong business. I need to be a consultant... THESE PEOPLE NEED GUIDANCE! LOL

Cassie Looking For An "Edge"....

This just in from fly-guy Rae over at Stuffflypeoplelike.com -- Cassie shaved half her head, in an obvious attempt to gain some more "edge" like her avant-guarde-manufactured-counterpart: Rihanna. The problem with this look is:
A. it's inconsistent. Cassie has a soft sound and a glamourous image that this look completely clashes with, making her look random and worst of all thirsty.
B. If she really wanted to complete the look, she should have cut the rest of her hair shorter-- an edgy shaved style doesn't look right with long flowy ultra-feminine hair.
And C. I don't think her boo-bear P. Diddy would approve! LOL
But seriously, unless she is doing a complete image overhaul, this look is a little too risky for the "Official Girl". Cassie is a fly chick with her own swag-- although it often gets under the radar because she's over-shadowed by the Rihanna's of the world-- all the truly fly don's and diva's recoginze it. There was no need at this desperate attempt at "flyness". Plus-- Kelis did this look better. BLAH!

What In Samhill?

Ignore Kanye and his super-fly main squeeze for a second and look to your left. What in the world is your boy Perez Hilton wearing??? It's my obligation to say something about this, because Perez clowns everyone all the time, and rarely feels a backlash. I'm doing my little part here for the community (insert raucous laughter here).

The Next BODYGUARD?

Word on the street is (and when I say street I mean from my main homie Dr. Drew) This weekend Rihanna was out-and-about without her wife-beating boyfriend. She was on her grind and having meetings with movie-execs who are slated to cast her in a re-make of Whitney Houston's 1992 hit: "The Boudyguard".
Wow, I don't think I have ever seen Rihanna act, and we all know how challenging creating a good re-make... Not uhhhh, sure there if you wanna roll the dice on that one there Lion's Gate-- theses ARE tough economic times and all, LOL.

You Sure His 15 Ain't Up Yet?

What in the world is T-Pain and these two other crazy white boys doing? I mean, in the following video: "On a Boat" is clearly a spoof. But it's just not funny enough. I thought spoofs were supposed to be funny, no? This is just kinda corny like a 2009 resurrection of Weird Al Yankovich, lol. And I can't help but thinking of a coon or a sambo when I see T-Pain smiling with those grills, dancing around in a little jig, and wearing those ridiculous top hats. SMH. WATCH:

Rihanna Beat Chris First, Chris & His Legal Camp Claim Self-Defense...

Chris Brown's legal camp is speaking out about the REAL story around the Crhianna fight. Apparently she started beating on him first! Here is the latest from the CB/Rhi-Rhi fiasco from the good folks at Bossip:
They were in the car leaving the Clive Davis party. While Chris was driving, he got a phone call from a young lady. Our source tells us that Rihanna knew that Chris had been messing around with this particular girl and she has, as of late, been the reason for many of their heated arguments. Rihanna got a glimpse of the phone, saw the name and number and immediately recognized who it was. She went ballistic and began to “beat the sh*t” out of Chris (while driving). She was so uncontrollable, that Chris began to fight back in self defense, which ensued the fight. Rihanna’s rage stemmed from Chris’ questionable fidelity in the last few months.
Wow. I gotta say that makes MUCH more sense than him just randomly beating the ish outta her.... But geez, I dunno. This kinda changes things. You start SERIOUSLY beating someone down while their DRIVING???? You can BOTH be killed.... KILLED!!!! I'd beat somebody's ass too if they did that to me-- true story. That's foolish and irresponsible-- not to mention irrational. Could this be why Rhianna did not cooperate with police? That would ALSO make more sense. Hmmmmmm. These developments are very disturbing, but then again-- this whole situation has been, from the gate. SMH. I'm not taking sides here. I just want to see what happens when the whole truth is out in the open...

How You Gonna Back-Track Like That?

So... One day later, and Etta James is playing the "damage-control" game. She is claiming that she was merely "joking" about the remarks she made towards Bey and Obama. Honestly though, I think she didn't realize the power of technology, bloggers, and the Internet-- because I'm sure she never expected that statement to get so far, so fast. Long gone are the days of old when you can say something naughty (Etta), or DO something naughty (Mike Phelps), and get away with it. Everywhere you look big brother is watching, or snapping away from a camera phone near you. I dunno, they say beneath every joke is some truth, and I believe it. The only thing Etta might be sorry for now is getting her spot blown.

Martin Louis The King, Jr.

Honestly, I can turn this blog into a 24-7 Kanye Westravaganza, because the man is constantly supplying me with quality entertaining material. What's the latest from the dueling divo? His new name. According to the good folks at Drew Reports, 'Ye is asking everyone to refer to him as: Martin Louis The King, Jr. as opposed to his former "Louis Vuitton Don" mantra. For serious. Here's more from 'Ye at his hotel room in gay ol' Paris yesterday:
“I know I’ve been called the Louis Vuitton Don, I know, I’ve been called a lot of names, uh mostly The Don, the Louis Vuitton Don — due to what happened — when the red shoes hit the runway, I was forced to change my name, to, Martin Louis The King, Jr. Address me as such. And until then, I will be in the building, swagger on a hundred thousand trillion.”
Yeah.... Ummmmmmm nah. Who does he think he is-- DIDDY or somebody? LOL, Diddy is the only one who can get away with this kind of ridiculous extravagance and even when he DOES do it, it's barely tolerable. Here's a word to the wise: if you want people to stop calling you a diva and a bi-sexual porn star, then stop giving them endless hours of supporting material! I'm jus sayin.

For The Love Of All That Is Sane & Righteous....

Why in sam-hill (yes, I said sam-hill) is VH-1 giving Ray-J a television show? What has the man done (besides thrown his weiner around) that could possibly consititue him getting a whole show? And more importantly, WHERE IS MY SHOW??? I'm WAAAAAY more interesting than him... SMH. I mean... This is Ray-J as in Brandy's little brother. IN fact, I was just talking to my bff about this the other day, and I just don't get it. How has he managed to bang Whitney Houston, Kim Kardashian, AND Lil' Kim? How is it possible? What, is he sprinkling pixie-dust in their drinks?
Anyway, Ray-J's new "show" titled, "For the Love Of Ray-J" will premiere on VH-1 on February 2nd. The premise is that same as the other 5,345,789 VH-1 "love search" shows-- so I'm not going to insult your intelligence by actually attempting to break it down for you... VH-1 if you're reading I'm telling you right now: You're cruisin' for a bruisin'-- next reality show, it better be ME you're choosin'! And I'm gone.
Yes, Oprah Smoked Crack!

Oprah Winfrey isn't a saint, and she isn't infallible. That might just be why I like her-- but I digress. Word on the Street is that Oprah used to smoke crack with an ex-boyfriend of hers back in 1985 when she was a news anchor. She used to cut that coke, cook it up and ssshhhhhmoke it. Strange huh? I'm telling you, life is truly stranger than fiction. But y'all don't hear me though. Check it:
“Oprah made a “rock” of cocaine and baking soda in the tube and heated it, a method known as freebasing.
“[Oprah] then put the lit torch on the rock, inhaled and held the smoke in her lungs for a long time. When she finally exhaled, she began to shake violently as she put the pipe down, she had trouble catching her breath and her eyes got big as saucers.”
We smoked at least a couple of times a week. Sometimes we would smoke up until her limo was waiting to take her to the studio to perform her show…”
Oprah had actually confirmed her drug-use in a show that she had taped back in the 80's. She revealed the following:
“In my 20’s, I’d done this drug and I know exactly what you are talking about.” She said the drug use occurred while she was an anchorwoman on a television news show.
“It’s my life’s great big secret. It was such a secret because–I realize (with) the public person I have become–if the story ever were revealed, the tabloids would exploit it and what a big issue it would be.”
She went on to explain, “But I was involved with a man in my 20s who introduced me to the same drug that you’ve been talking about and, like Patrice, I always felt that the drug itself is not the problem but that I was addicted to the man.” She admitted: “I can’t think of anything I wouldn’t have done for that man.”
It's official. I perpetually will never put anything past anyone for any reason ever again in life. If this is not a testament to that, then I don't know what is...

Say What???

So... I've been trying to avoid this story all week, but it's just been gnawing at me... I figure I'd give my 2 cents... So apparently in this month's Elle Magazine, Beyonce has proven she's lost her damn mind by saying the following:
“I grew up upper class. Private school. My dad had a Jaguar. We’re African-American and we work together as a family, so people assume we’re like The Jacksons. But I didn’t have parents using me to get out of a bad situation."
Good lawd, there are so many things wrong with that statement, where do I begin? Not only did her father allegedly use DC profits for an expensive drug habit, but it was also noted that certain members of DC were cheated out of money by him... Additionally, we all know that he quit his job to manage her group-- so clearly he NEEDED Destiny's Child to maintain their "expensive" lifestyle. How is that any different from what Beyonce alleges the Jackson family did? Oh, I know-- the Jackson family actually used their talent to get out of a poverty-stricken neighborhood in Gary, IN, whereas Matthew Knowles was just a greedy, snorting bastard-- lol... Harsh, I know-- but this quote SERIOUSLY got on my nerves. And I'm not the only one-- apparently Janet is REALLY upset about this, and she should be. If it wasn't for the Jackson family and the many color barriers they broke there wouldn't BE A BEYONCE. So she really needs to watch her mouth, and stop talking about other people's families... Sheesh! Apparently Janet is not happy, and will have some choice words for Beyonce in the media sometime soon.... Can't wait!
IGNORANCE!

I want y'all to look closely at the face of ignorance above, and please let your memory-receptors soak in every iota. This kid is a fool. Clearly, Soulja Boy is doing anything he can to stay relevant, and I guess dissing Nas is part of the ultimate plan. This fool claims that Nas is most likely responsible for the demise of his career and others in the rap game. Forget the fact that Soulja Boy's lyrics makes 5 year olds say, "Damn son, you couldn't come up with anything more compex than this???" But I digress. Check out what he had to say about Nas' "Hip Hop Is Dead": (thanks Dr. Drew!)
“Real talk, the n*gga that killed hip-hop was Nas,” Soulja Boy says in the video . “He came out publicly and said, ‘Hip-Hop is dead,’ and then after that everybody started saying hip-hop is dead. ‘Cause think about it, if Nas would have never said hip-hop is dead, then motherf*ckers would have never thought anything about it.” Soulja Boy went on to dig himself a bigger hole saying “He probably wasn’t feeling how the music was going. He came out and killed everybody’s money. He killed his own career with that sh*t. He shoulda thought about that sh*t though.” If that wasn’t enough, Mr. Crank Dat finished by saying “You see how George Bush f*cked up America, it’s the same way Nas did with hip-hop. N*gga came out with Hip-Hop Is Dead and f*cked up everything. But you see how Lil’ Wayne came right back and sold a million albums in a week and proved Nas wrong.”Is he an idiot, or what. Either you are saying that Nas killed hip hop, and no one is selling albums, or you're saying that it's not true and Lil' Wayne's success has proven that. You can't say both-- immbecile! Where is Stewie Griffin and his gamma-ray gun when you need him?

Nas' abstract take on hip hop was exactly what the genre needed to wake up, get on their grind and make powerful music. And that's exactly what happened. Artists like Lil' Wayne are testements to that fact. The idea that "hip hop is dead" was merely a wake up call. Why would Nas say hip-hop is dead, yet continue to rap? Ugh... Soulja Boy, go play in some traffic on a 6-lane highway! Geez.

Our Daily Dose of That Crazy Lil' Kanye...

You gotta love Yeezy. With all his ups and downs, triumphs and blunders-- the man just makes life interesting-- and 90% of the time he looks damn good doing it too... I'm hatin' hard on his touch letterman jacket right about now in the pic above of him in Katsuya in LA this weekend. Word on the street is crazy-man Kanye was going around town saying that after a week in fashion design school, he is ready to dress the likes of Obama. Word? For serious 'Ye? We must have missed something-- lol.
Oh, and remember that little debacle on SNL last week with all the horrible singing and lip-synching? Well now word is Kanye is chanting some randomness everyday to keep the "evil spirits away". Apparently these are the same evil spirits that took his singing talent away, and he will do anything to get rid of them. Whoa there witch doctor... Whoa.
Eeeeeek!

Guess who crawled out of the swamp and decided to make a cameo appearance in the French Riviera this weekend. None other than the most sought-after fashionista herself-- DONATELLA VERSACE! She looks like a whithered old piece of beef jerky. This is so not ok... Looks like she just spent 20 hours slathered in butter skidding across a human-sized frying pan... SMH.

Just In Case You Missed It..

...and if so-- you were clearly living under a rock. This has got to be undoubtedly, one of the most triumphant moments in foreign relations-history! George Dubya made a surprise appearance in Iraq over the weekend, where he was greeted with open arms... Sort of. IN the video below, Bush gets 2 shoes thrown at him by a disgruntled Iraqi journalist. You can hear him shouting: "This is a farewell kiss, dog!"
Apparently in the Arab-world, throwing a shoe at someone is a very deep sign of disrespect... The thing I don't get is-- why does it have to be in the "Arab-world"? Shoot, if someone in my hood threw their Timberland at me, you better believe it would be world war III in that piece! But I digress... Check out the madness below:

You Can't. Be. Serious.

And now... Staright fromt he WTF files, I present to you the very talented-- TINA TURNER!!!! I spotted this "gem" over at Dlisted.com and I had to share it with you all... I have always given props to Tina because she is pushing 80, has legs of a goddess and truly is the Queen of rock n' roll. Eff it-- the Queen of MUSIC PERIOD. But this is an outrage. Who allowed her to roll up on stage looking like one of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's rejects? Oh no, this is totally unacceptable under all circumstances. That whole "Battlefield Earth" look has got to go....
See? That's better!

The Distress of Burress...

I was watching Good Day NY this morning-- as I do every morning, and I heard the latest news about our wayward homie Plaxico Burress. He has been suspended from the NFL (not quite sure if that's just for this season or not), and he will be fined (possibly up to 800,000) by the city of New York...
According to Burress, one of his teammates (Steve Smith) got robbed at gunpoint on the night after Thanksgiving. He was walking into his home after being dropped off by a chauffered vehicle, when he was approached with by a gunman from behind. He had to give up his wallet, jewels and cell phone. When word got back to the rest of the team, they were nervous. Apparently Burress was extra-nervous and started strappin' up.
Because of Burress' lack of better judgement many people have been hurt by this incident. The Latin Quarters club he was at is under investigation for allowing a gun into their establishment. They will likely get shutdown. The hospital worker that admitted him after he shot himself is getting fired-- it's against the law to admit a patient with a gunshot wound and not call police. The doctor that operated on Burress had his licence to practice in hospitals stripped-- for the same reason. It's so sad that all these people have suffered because of their lack of judgement as well as Burress'. Let this be a lesson to you-- always look out for #1 because when the ish hits the fan... You know the rest.
