I just wanna take the time out to thank those of you that participated in the poll this month... It's always appreciated by me! Keep it coming, I like an audience that can get INVOLVED!

According to 43% of you, Rihanna is crazy as hell to even get near CB after this whole ordeal, and y'all really believe homegirl needs prayer.

27% of you are on-the-fence about the situation. Possibly because there have been so many rumors as to what truly went down, you're not so sure what your opinion is... I dig it.

24% of you believe in your heart of hearts that Rihanna is a little crazy herself, and actually ENJOYS the abuse. After all, no one was forcing her to stay with the woman-beater-- and now we all know this is not the first time he's "layed the hands"... SMH.

Finally, 10% of you (and I really pray for y'all) believe that it's true love, and CB loves Rih-Rih and is just a misunderstood soul. While that could very-well be the case, I don't really buy it. CB is a young dude. Young, immature, rich and famous. I'm not sure if he even knows what love is, if that's how he is treating the lady in his life. He surely needs to fall back... Like 50 million feet.

You Decided...

After careful consideration, you-- my faithful flock has decided that RYAN LESLIE is undoubtedly the one to watch out for in 2009. According to you, he is definitely creepin' on a come up this year! I must say, I am happy about this choice. It shows the sophistication and good taste of the people who read my blog. KUDOS!



Ryan is a highly sophisticated, uber-talented young man. Hailing from my home of HARLEM WORLD, NYC-- Ryan is definitely on my top list as the one to watch. He graduated from Harvard by the AGE OF FIFTEEN, and graduated at 19 with a degree in government and economics. He's a young genius in his own right. But besides his brains, he also has impeccable style and talent. He is a singer, song-writer and producer who has consistently been the saving grace for acts like Cassie (his debut artist) who has been down with his Next Selection production team since she came on the scene. Ryan has his own debut album coming out in a matter of weeks, so look out for updates on that!



With a whopping 45% OF YOUR VOTE, Ryan was undoubtedly our winner. Coming in second place at 30% of the vote was another young-stunner known as SANTOGOLD. Once again, proving that my readers have the best taste! Closing in third is Lady Gaga with 15% of your votes. Ron Browz slides in at fourth place with 10% of your votes. You Decided...

After many votes (that I truly appreciate) , 50% of you decided that Michelle Obama was undoubtedly the woman of the year. I second that notion. With all the help she provided on the campaign trail, not to mention the inspiration, elegance and poise she has bestowed on us all since her emergence-- it truly has been her year. Kudos to you Michelle! You will be a stunning and awesome first lady. We can't wait to welcome you with open arms!

As for the rest of the votes, Oprah got absolutely no love from y'all with 0% of the vote for this year's "it" person. Rihanna got runner up with 27% of the vote. I can't lie, you couldn't run from this girl this year, and she single-handedly made Chris Brown just as universally relevant as she has become. It still amazes me because although she poses great beauty, humility and a great stylist (lol), she lacks much more than that. Her dancing is... Eehhhhhh. Her singing is average at best. But hey, that's pop life for you!

Moving on to the third vote was our girl Beyonce. She has had several years as the "it" girl it's high time she stepped aside and let someone else take the reigns. Bey, you are beautiful and talented but we'd love for you to settle down with your husband and pop out some beautiful babies. Take a lil' sabbatical. I'd love to miss you just for a minute. Your impact and talent aren't going anywhere, you can always pick up where you left off. I promise!

You Decided...

...That the craziest event that went down in 2008, with a whopping 50% of your votes, was the triple-homicide in the Hudson family that happened last month. We were all dumbfounded by the tragic news and we are still grasping at straws to make any type of sense of it. Jennifer Hudson has been having a terrific year, with yet another hit film (Sex In The City) under her belt, and a new engagement to boot (although, I heard rumors that the two have recently split). It was a shame to hear such terrible news.

Runner up, with 40% of your vote was none other than our President elect Barack Obama. It is truly a miracle, and I am still stunned that he is our nation's leader. Every day I wake up like it's Ground Hog's Day, like I'm realizing that we have a Black president for the very first time...

Mariah Carey's sham-marriage (lol) to Nick Cannon, and Britney's meltdown both tied for 3rd place with 5% of your votes... After careful deliberation over the past month, you (my wonderful readers) decided that Erykah Badu is a model mother... She recieved a whopping 53% of your votes! That however, is not saying much when you see the group she was lumped in with: Jamie-Lynn Spears (18%), The Legendary Ms. Britney Spears (18%), Lynn Spears (18%)and Sarah Palin (9%).

Erykah Badu is currently pregnant with her 3rd child, by 3rd baby-daddy: Jay-Electronica. Jay is a super-producer, and also Erykah's protege. The neo-soul set would also call him one of the luckiest men in the world-- other more traditional people might call them "crazy". Erykah's interesting family structure has been criticized by many, but she has always maintained that her family is healthy, happy and they are filed with love. Honestly, that is the msot important thing. Some families look great on paper, but the reality can be quite the opposite when you look beyond the surface... Ok Ms. Badu, keep doing your thing!
