Say It Ain't So...

As I get ready to go to Nas's concert tonight at Hunter College-- instead of being overwhelmingly happy and thinking about his lyrical contributions to society I'm saddened. The news just broke yesterday that while in her 3rd trimester of pregnancy, Kelis has filed for divorce from Nasir Jones. The funky songbird just started her 7th month... The U.S. hip-hop couple of Nas and his wife Kelis are breaking up with Kelis, who is pregnant, filing for divorce in Los Angeles, her representative said.

"I can confirm that she has filed for divorce," Kelis' representative told Vibe Magazine Thursday. "We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time."

Rumor has it that they had both cheated-- and some even speculate that Wendy Williams is in possession of a sex-tape starring Kelis and rapper Infa-Red... I don't believe it. I won't believe it. Not til I see it at least. I always saw Kelis and Nas as hip-hop's first couple-- a true ride or die team:





His laid back, old-soul jazzy style-- with her edgy, head-strong super-funky style was such a good match-- even the angels in heaven were jealous, so what gives? Obviously this was something irreconcilable as Kelis makes this decision while she is with-child. That probably saddens me the most in this whole ordeal. Just a couple weeks ago they seemed ok:



I love Kelis to death-- truly. I am going to miss these two together, but I can't lie. I always wished in the deep dark corners of my mind that she ended up with Pharrell. I just thought that was so ideal. Nas being a VERY close second. As I get amped for Nas' performance later on tonight, it will be with a heavy-heart. And I hope that it doesn't affect his mood and performance, though I can't say I'd be surprised if it did. We're working on press-access people, so hold tight. I wish them both the best.

I won't let you down faithful flock-- I only bring y'all the really real. What I'm referring to is Access Hollywood's report of the Samantha Ronson/Lindsay Lohan break-up. Because they reported it, whordes of other blogs (including the "reputable" Perez Hilton.com) ran with the false story. Now Lindsay took to her blog to call bitches out:

J.Lo & Marc's Swan Song...

According to several media outlets, J. Lo and Marc Anthony plan to go out in style. Apparently their rocky romance is coming to an end, and they want to officially announce it-- ironically during Marc's February 14th concert at Madison Square Garden. The pair figured it would be a bittersweet way to go out... I just find it plain strange, but hey, they have kids, so whatever keeps them civil, I'm all for it. 'Tis a shame though, 'tis a shame... I wonder who J. Lo's next victim will be. It clearly has to be someone hot, relevant, and A-list to help boost her dwindling career. Or maybe she will even rekindle something with good ol' Diddy? Who knows?? The saga never ends in La VIDA LOPEZ!

"She's Making My LIfe Miserable..."

...Well apparently. According to Us Weekly reports, J. Lo and Marc-Anthony are on the outs. She was spotted recently without Marc, and without her wedding ring. Basically, the article claims that Jennifer feels that Marc has reduced her to a simple Long Island housewife, from her former life as a diva-pop-star-super-mogul. They claim his controlling ways are driving her to the edge. Additionally, Marc has been said to be very frustrated as well. He was seen on Thanksgiving without his wife, cuddled up with some thick ol' chick in Vegas. He was apparently overheard telling a group of women " She's [my wife's] making me miserable. For shame. They just finsihed spawning off those alien babies. Hopefully, this is just another silly little rumor. It's the holidays, get it together people!

Another Note From The Captain Obvious Files...

According to the good people at Bossip, Amy Winehouse's newly-estranged, and newly "sober" husband Blake Fielder-Civil blames himself for her addictions. Read on:

Amy Winehouse’s husband has admitted he made his wife a junkie - and he plans to leave the troubled pop star to “save her life.”
“I dragged Amy into [drugs] and without me there is no doubt that she would never have gone down that road,” Blake Fielder-Civil told Britain’s News of the World in an explosive new interview.

“Now I have to let her go to save her life. I am not abandoning her. I am doing this out of love.”

Fielder-Civil, who likens his relationship with his wife to that of Romeo and Juliet, is currently in a London-area rehab facility where he has resided since his Nov. 5 release from jail.

Winehouse has still not visited her husband since he left prison, but was hospitalized again on Nov. 20 for what her rep says was a “reaction to medication.” It’s unclear whether she has been released.
“I introduced her to heroin, crack cocaine and self-harming. I feel more than guilty,” Fielder-Civil says.

Hmmmmm. Really? What a revelation. I don't mean to be so sarcastic with the poor sap-- ok, so maybe I do. But come ON. Before she linked up with him, she was a healthy-looking, fully-functional, highly-talented, retro-pop genius. Now, she's just a mess. A piping-hot sloppy mess. Amy is supposedly in rehab (although the whole way there she was singing "Noooooooo, noooooo, no!"), and word on the street is she has contacted her lawyers with plans to divorce Blake's tired ass... Well good for her. At least she's starting to make some good decisions in her life...

Madonna's Divorce Settlement

Access Hollywood has confirmed that Madonna and Guy Ritchie have reached a divorce settlement. He is reportedly walking away with a cool 60 million. Not shabby, but Mr. Ritchie on his own was worth $52 million. Madonna is worth $525 million herself. Ritchie claimed that he was not interested in taking Madonna's money, and it's clear that he wasn't. I commend him for that. It is sad that their union has come to an end. They were in the game for 8 years-- pretty good by Hollywood's standards. I wish them both the best-- at least now Madonna can get her jump-off jumped-off with A-Rod. Sheesh!

Yes, J-Hud Is Marrying A Punk...

Word on the street is that Jennifer Hudson is set to marry David Otunga. This is her second engagement in the last year-- I hope this one sticks.... I guess. Otunga is pretty well-known himself. Most people know him as "Punk" from the infectious and shameful "I Love New York" series. I have to say that any man who is willing to slob-down Tiffany "New York" Pollard has GOT to be questionable. But I guess if J-Hud likes it, we better love it! Her publicist has confirmed the engagement: 

“I can confirm that Jennifer got engaged to her boyfriend David on Friday night in L.A.” says the rep. Otunga, who is known as “Punk” from the reality show I Love New York 2, popped the question with a Neil Lane diamond ring on the Dreamgirls Oscar winner’s 27th birthday. The couple, who have been dating less than a year, both hail from Chicago. Professionally, it is a busy time for Hudson as well. Her debut solo album, Jennifer Hudson, will be in stores Sept. 30, and her next film, The Secret Life of Bees opens on Oct. 17"

To all the tabloids and nay-sayers, Guy Ritchie and Madonna give you a big middle finger! The two renewed their wedding vows in a ceremony this weekend on London, according to Daily Mail . Madonna flew her Kabbalah instructor in from Los Angeles. Insider's had the following to say: 

"It was very intimate and both Guy and Madonna made vows to each other and pledged to try to make their marriage strong again. The ceremony lasted about an hour. They turned up at the kabbalah centre in their gym clothes and changed into white robes. Everyone at the centre hopes that they will get through their recent rough patch."

Papoose & Remy-Ma Are Married...

...The quintessential thug-lovin couple of the century: Papoose & Remy-Ma got married. Initially, they were supposed to get married in May (before Remy's sentencing for an attempted murder charge she caught last year), but it never happened. Remy was sentenced to 8 years. Papoose confessed to XXL Magazine that he was married claiming , "Yep, it's true That's all I'm gonna say". The two apparently got married at Riker's Island penitentiary sometime this summer. NO further details have been divulged. Congrats to the happy hoodlums! LOL

Lisa-Raye Responds!

If you have been living under a rock, let me catch you up. Basically, Lisa-Raye has been married to Michael Misick (Premiere of Turcks & Caicos) since 2006. Late last year, a friend of Lisa's accused Misick of sexually assaulting her in his manse. He publicly denied these allegations, and Lisa decided to stay... Until now. A few days ago, Lisa went to the island to finalize their divorce papers. Misick (being the petty-twit that he is) would not allow her to stay at his mansion, so she got a hotel. That same evening, she returned to the mansion and a fight ensued. Both parties sustained bite marks and bruises. Both parties filed police reports. Oh boy, I think every woman on the planet can relate to that song-- and so can Morgan Freeman's soon-to-be ex-wife! According to the Associate Press, Freeman has been seeing a woman named DeMaris Meyer, who was also air-lifted from the scene of his car wreck last Sunday. Apparently the two were headed to Freeman's home. Freeman and his wife of 24-years, Myrna Collie-Lee are officially getting a divorce. Does this have anything to do with Morgan's new bust-it-baby? Star Magazine is reporting that Diddy has asked for Cassandra Ventura's (aka Cassie) hand in marriage. He ended his ten-year relationship with Kim Porter, the mother of 3 of his 6 children. Cassie is 21 and Diddy is 38. There have been rumors swirling about this secret romance for months now. It seems more than a little ironic that Cassie's latest single is titled: "Official Girl"-- commenting on how she is tired of the charade and would like to be made an official girlfriend to her lover... Federline Gets Full Custody Of Brit's Kids...

This past week in LA, the courts decided to give Kevin Federline full custody of his two sons with Britney Spears. Spears is happy with the decision as she is still recovering from her mental break-down, working on a new album, and getting her post-baby bod back in shape. Kevin and Britney have worked out their past issues, and are amicable. This means Britney can basically see her sons whenever she wants. I think this is one of the best decision either of them have made since they met. Britney is in no condition to care for two small children. She needs to get her stability back for good before even considering it. I'm gla the two have finally matured and decided on a solution. Federline will be receiving $20,000 per month of support from Spears. Can you say: CHA-CHING!

Trouble In Paradise For The World's "Favorite" Couple

According to News of The World, there is some "shocking" news about Nick Cannon & Mariah Carey's relationship. Apparently the "honeymoon was over before it started", and there is trouble in paradise. Cannon is not taking well to being Mimi's personal slave and gopher, and according to these "sources" things have gotten ugly, fast:

Madonna Headed For Divorce... With No Pre-Nup

Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been plagued with rumors by the tabloids since the start, but now there actually might be some truth to these incessant divorce rumors. The Times (of London, not NY) are reporting that the two have seperated and have hired lawyers. I am inclined to believe this because they are a very reputable publication that isn't rumor-based... This is sad because this can get super-ugly considering there was no pre-nuptual agreement... So much for free-love! Kanye West said it best: "If you ain't no chump, holler: WE WANT PRE-NUPS, WE WANT PRE-NUPS! Yeeeeeah, it's somethin' that you need to have cuz when seh leave ur ass, she gonna leave with half..." ... and so on.

So I Guess It's Official....

Foxy will be settling down with her new boo in Miami... Hmmmm, sounds familiar. I've done that before! I'll give her 3 months tops, before she's crying to come back to NYC! LOL

According to The National Enquirer , Jamie-Lynn Spears gave birth to a little girl named: Madie Briann.... Wooooooooooooow. Yet another reason why kids need not have children... But I digress. This is the first child for the 17 year old. The baby-daddy is some dude named Casey Alridge. The two are planning to stay together. Spears reportedly entered the Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center at 4:30am, and reportedly gave birth at 8:30am. Congrats tot he new parents!

Getting Married....Again!

According to several media outlets (including The National Enquirer),  pop icon-- Janet Jackson, and rapper/mini-mogul Jermaine Dupri are officially engaged to be married. The two lovebirds of 4-years will wed next Winter in the romantic city of Paris. This would be the third marriage attempt for Jackson and the first for Dupri... Ahem, ahem...
