Pimp C Found Dead in Upscale LA Hotel Room!

Early this morning in Los Angeles, the fire department responded to a 911 call from the Mandarin Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. When authorities got to Chad Butler's (aka Pimp C) hotel room on the 6th floor, they found him dead.....

Pimp C is one half of the famed Houston rap group UGK (Underground Kings). For those of you that might not be familiar with their music, they have done notable collaborations with many of raps superstars. They were featured on 3-6 mafia's classic "Sippin on some Sysurp", Outkasts " International Player's Anthem" and possibly most notable the Jay-Z classic, "Big Pimpin".

Barry Weiss, CEO of their record label, Jive, said in a statement: "We mourn the unexpected loss of Chad. He was truly a thoughtful and kind-hearted person. He will be remembered for his talent and profound influence as a pioneer in bringing southern rap to the forefront."

Wow. What a sad and untimely loss for hip hop. Surely Pimp c will be missed dearly, as he was one of the pioneers of contemporary Southern hip-hop. Although the cause of death was natural.... How devastating for a young man of 33 to go so soon....Our prayers go out to Pimp c, his friends, and his family.
