Style file ICON (Black History Edition): Andre 3000

I am sooooooo excited about this man right here. Andre 3000 has been my muse and inspiration since 1994 when his group Outkast came out with: Southernplayalisticadillac. He is an inspiration because he is fearless. He does what he wants, says what he wants, and dresses how he wants without caring what the consequences might be. To me, that is an inspiration because when you are a person like that you are truly free. This is why people like him and Kelis make me happy! :o)

Since Andre debuted on the scene over a decade ago, he has made no apologies for his off-center style. A lot of men are too paranoid to go outside fashion norms because they are afraid to be viewed as a homosexual. I say NUTS TO THAT! If you know who you are, that's all that matters and personally, I find fearless fashion to be quite sexy. Andre takes influences such as his southern roots, and music icons like Bootsy Collins and puts them together with his own unique spin. From colorful wigs, parachute pants, rainbow suspenders and James Dean leather jackets-- Andre does it all, and he does it well! I think it's about time he was recognized and honored for his fierce fashion sense. He inspires me not to be afraid to be different, and I love it! Andre, if you ever read this, just know that someone out there is living in your dimension, and feeling your vibe. Kudos to you, baby! Please take the time to enjoy some thumbnails of our fashion virtuoso below....

  1. He's such an innovator, and I like that he's never afraid. He also looks comfortable in whatever he's wearing, even if you are scratching your head. Its really about what makes YOU feel good.

  2. Ok...I love Andre's music, but a fashion icon? What about him makes him an icon? Just because you take risks doesn't make you an icon. I guess that makes Lauryn Hill, Amy Whinehouse and Whitney Houston are icons too lol. I'm just not feelin that at all...

  3. Actually, many do consider Lauryn Hill a fashion icon, and amy Winehouse hasnt been around long enough, but nothing about her style is innovative. She jus wears those dirty ass ballet slippers all the time!

  6. Apparently you guys don't know much about good fashion. he's clearly NOT an innovator. he's not afraid of what you think b/c he is comfortable looking like a fool, plain and simple
