Collin Powell To Endorse Barack!

Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol  told Fox News yesterday that Powell plans on fully endorsing Obama this week at the convention in Denver. However, when asked to comment, Powell denied that he would attend the convention. He did comment however, on his respect of Obama and his eloquence during the drama with Pastor Wright:

In April, Powell praised Obama’s response to controversial remarks by his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who had said the United States brought the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on itself by supporting terrorism and that the government created the AIDS virus to “destroy people of color.”

“I thought that Senator Obama handled the issue well,” said Powell, the nation’s first black secretary of state. “He didn’t abandon the minister that brought him closer to his faith, but at the same time he deplored the kinds of statements that the Reverend Wright had made.”

Although Powell has not denied a possible endorsement, he has denied attending the DNC, we will just have to see how it all pans out. An endorsement from Powell would clearly be desirable to the Obama campaign-- which has clearly become a force to be reckoned with!

  1. This is great news, unfortunately Billary plans to spoil the party by showboating, putting her name on the ballot, and producing a tribute video to her campaign. She's a nut, and if Obama backs down to that politabitch, that's a cause for concern.
