I'm sorry to say this, and I may catch some heat for it but-- y'all Chinese people have really been SHOWING UR ASSES during this Olympic ceremony. First the Tibet drama, then the racial profiling, now this? Above is a picture of 9-year-old Lin Miaoke. Isn't she cute? She sang the Chinese National Anthem during a ceremony at the Olympics yesterday. Only problem is: SHE WASN'T THE ONE SINGING! Ya girl pulled a Milli-Vanilli and lip-synced the whole thing. For shame!
Now look at this image of the sweet little girl with a bow in her hair. That is 7-year-old Yang Paiyi. She is the one with the beautiful voice who ACTUALLY sang that song. She was pulled from the ceremony last-minute because she wasn't "cute" enough. They thought that her teeth were too unsightly to represent the culture on television... How ridiculous. She's seven! Does she even have all her adult teeth yet? In my opinion, she's actually the cuter child, and she was done an injustice, but when asked about the scenario, she humbly replied that she was just happy to have been chosen to sing at all. Awwwwwwww. Love that! Anyway, check out the explanation these douche-bags gave for this straight-up fuckery:

"The main consideration was the national interest. The child on the screen should be flawless in image, in her internal feelings and in her expression. When we had the dress rehearsals, there were spectators from various divisions, including above all a member of the politburo who gave us his verdict: we had to make the swap."
Balderdash!
