How YOU Doing, Richard Pryor???

Richard Pryor is undoubtedly one of the best comedians that ever lived...But did you know that he once lived an alternative sex-life? In his tell-all auto-biography entitled: Pryor Convictions, the comedic legend admits to having a two-week sexual relationship with a man. Initially he was not aware that it was a transsexual, but once he found out-- he kept it going:

"One evening I was at the "Candy Store," club in Hollywood. I spotted her standing beside the dance floor. She told me her name was Mitrasha and she was beautiful and exotic as her name, a dead ringer for a young Josephine Baker.

After a night of drinking, flirting, kissing and dancing, I took Mitrasha home, where we did cocaine and got down to business.

The next time we were together, Mitrasha forgot to do the tuck and fold. When I reached down, I discovered that she was actually a "he." For some reason, I didn't care. Either I wanted the nut too badly, I was too high to object, or I was as sexually confused as Mitrasha. It was probably a combination of all three reasons.

Mitrasha and I carried on for several weeks. We even went out dancing at the "Daisy." I never kept him a secret. My best friend , for instance, knew I was f**king a dude, and a drop-dead gorgeous one at that. I even admitted doing something different was exciting. But after two weeks of being gay, enough was enough and I went back to life as a horny heterosexual.

A while later, my best friend delivered a message from Mitrasha. He'd realized a lifelong dream and undergone a sex-change operation. Now biologically a woman, she wanted to get back together ... I passed."

Wooow. How YOU doin' Richard Pryor? I have to say I have a new-found respect for him. I have always respected him as a legend in my community, but now I respect him for being so candid and honest about a topic that is still very taboo in the Black community. Perhaps this new admission will encourage closet-cases like Eddie Murphy and Al Reynolds (LOL) to be out and proud! What a world this would be. No?

  1. thats soo honest and brave of him. shih half the men in the industry are suggin and fuggin other men buh jus wont admit it. they go to such reat lengths to try and hide it when it's soo obvious.

why not jus be obvious and not try and lie?

  2. Right. I mean if you did it you did it right? And not only that, I hate the taboo. I know that boys experiment just as much as women do..or at least think about it. But let them tell it, they never even thought about it. Well, tell me this mister: how do you know its so horrible if you never even imagined doing it?

Back to Rich. I applaud his honesty and his ability to value a person (or a nut, however you want to look at it). I think if I were a guy and I had a connection with a transexual, wait let me be specific a transgendered person (not a drag queen nor cross dresser), then i would explore it at least a little bit. Why the hell not, you might be meeting an unexpected soulmate.
