Insane In The Membrane...

According to a New York Times article, there is already legislation being passed to try and make Guardisil (that vaccination against cervical-cancer causing HPV) mandatory for ALL TEENAGED GIRLS. Which basicaly means, soon you will not be able to attend a public school without this vaccination... That's kinda scary. I mean, I'm all for healthy lifestyles and preventative mesaures, but this should really be a choice. I think this pharmaceutical company (like many others) can clearly see the monetary benefits in making these mandates... But is it reeeeeally completely beenficial for us? Guardasil is reltively new. What about the long-term side-effects? What about the fact that it doesn't prevent agasint ALL types of HPV (including genital warts)? Why aren't young males being encouraged to take this as well, because 9 times outta 10 they are the carriers that spread this virus. I just have so many questions, and I feel really uneasy knowing that one day this might actually be as mandatory as science class...
